Becoming a parent for the first time can be exciting and scary at the same time.  You can’t wait to meet this new life. You dream of watching your child grow and develop into an amazing adult.  At the same time you’re probably thinking  – What am I doing!? How will I manage late night feedings, childcare, the extra expense of diapers, clothes, and food? 

We want you to know that you’re not alone!  God knows all you are feeling and thinking right now. His Word, the Bible, is full of help for parents of children of all stages. There are also many women and men right here in Roanoke who are ready to walk with you through this crazy journey called parenting.  Your advocate may be one of those. Also, Blue Ridge Women’s Center offers a parenting program for new and expecting moms.  Many local churches have groups who gather weekly for Bible Study and encouragement, many of which offer childcare.  These groups, often known as life groups, small groups, or community groups, often become like a supportive family.
