Next steps for growth
“Which came first, the chicken or the egg?”
Sometimes many of our life decisions can feel like “chicken-and-egg” situations. Which comes first, learning to manage money…or having money to manage? Learning to be a better worker…or getting a better job? Building new relationships…or strengthening the ones you have?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to these questions, but we’d like to suggest some ideas to think about as you plan your next steps for growth:
1) Think about relationships, including those with your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and God. Do you need to work on improving one or more of these relationships? What is one step you can take today to do this?
2) Set some goals. What would you like to see change in your life? You may have some long-term goals, like getting a degree or buying a house, but don’t forget to set shorter-term goals, too, like completing a Faith & Finances class or making a budget for the first time. We all make changes one step at a time, and each step is important!
3) Hold onto hope. In the Bible, God is called the “God of all hope.” When we face times of hopelessness, it’s important to remember that God is a god of hope, and he is with us every step of the way. Call out to him and ask him to give you hope in Jesus today!
In all these areas, don’t forget that you are not walking alone! Link2HOPE was created on the principle that we are all stronger when we walk with God and the people around us. As you continue, you can add people to your inner circle (family and close friends who can help you) and also invite others to serve as advocates and volunteers, walking with you along the way. You are not alone!
